Fresh Kristina Lewis works today . This in person group exhibition, Community Garden opens Sat, Jan 23 with staggered entry 12-5PM . . . ‘Paved Rift’ Found asphalt roll roofing, pumice gel, wood, acrylic, adhesive and varnish on panel 11.5” x 8” x 1” . ‘Balancing Act’ Gypsum cement, fiberglass, epoxy clay, wood, acrylic, leather, hardware and adhesive 12” x 8.5” x 4.5” . . Kristina Lewis navigates her urban surroundings like a hunter-gatherer, collecting the cityscape’s detritus and debris. Reminiscent of the Bay Area funk movement, her practice involves deftly transforming this bounty into sculptural objects that exude the weight of their history while assuming dynamic and elegant forms. The resulting works shift in their potential depending on one’s vantage point, presenting light-hearted whimsy in one moment, and tongue-in-cheek irony the next. . . . #KristinaLewis #MiguelArzabe #RachelleBussieres #CraigDorety #MatthewFFisher #AlexanderKoriGirard #BlaiseRosenthal #JohanssonProjects #SFArtsweek #8bridges #sfartdealers (at Johansson Projects) https://www.instagram.com/p/CKZWSVklK_t/?igshid=fbsk7bma1alb
