I thought you might find this article interesting since you've written about KQ's quest to go public before. https://t.co/mMEFPxtMt3
sent April 30, 2026
This is the link if anyone wants to read it (it's a Hankyung newspaper article in Korean.)
The article actually reads like a publicity piece written by the PR department or handler for KQ, to float the idea for an IPO and maybe gain investor interest. It's not so much a news article as a show and tell, summarizing in punchy way all of the financially quantifiable achievements of Ateez, and highlighting the ways in which Xikers is very promising.
'빅4' 중심으로 재편돼 온 K팝 시장에서 KQ엔터테인먼트가 단일 아티스트 의존도를 낮추고 지속 가능한 라인업 구조를 갖추며 새로운 메이저 기획사로 도약할 수 있을지, 향후 IPO 행보에 시장의 관심이 모이고 있다.
The positioning they want to do with KQ is that the Kpop market has been overly reliant on the Big 4 companies, and that KQ isn't necessarily just reliant on a single act, so once they get this IPO they might be able to launch as a new 'major' player on the market.
This is mostly interesting to me in that all of their accomplishments are to do with having raked in hard currency abroad, and the metrics they are using are a) filling stadiums and b) selling CDs, because in Korea they don't or aren't able to book the stadiums for everything and they try to mostly sell us endless amounts of stuffed dolls and knicknacks.
On ticketing for Alpha Drive One
-Warning: anti kq to follow
Okay so I wouldn't know who Alpha Drive One are except since their debut they have been ALL OVER Gangnam Station.
So I was aware of them and sometimes watching the clips the algorithms guided my way. There seemed to be just more going on about them than more establishes groups even.
Superb marketing KQ *chefs kiss*
