you’re not blowing it out of proportion. children shouldn’t be anywhere near these kinds of platforms and i will always stand by that. posting your kids and knowingly turning off comments is despicable. obviously this is not to the extent as the example i’m gonna give, but it reminds me of wren on tiktok. her mother is a horrible demon and i pray wren gets her revenge and healing when she’s older. no parent turns off the comments under anything related to their kids unless they know the exact kind of comments they’re gonna get. and if you know you’re gonna get creepy comments but you still choose to go forward with it… (i’d argue i’d think differently if they took from that and changed how they went about it cause hey - video will be there forever unfortunately but at least no more will exist. but considering youtube isn’t like tiktok where you’d easily bury the video, it’s so weird to have those up still.)
i genuinely believe she turns comments off if they get too many views because if she doesn't she gets comments like this and can't feign ignorance. her videos aren't educational because the comments are full of 'what's that? why does she need that? what's that do?'
(and also this is a bit of a tangent but I don't think experience = expertise. there's way too many autism mommies who act as if raising their one child with autism means they're experts on all there is to know about autism. or even people who are diagnosed with the thing themself. I'm only qualified to tell you how my athsma affects me, doesn't make me knowledgeable on athsma at all)
so if its not educational, and its not for community (because if it was she'd be posting videos about her experience not just wordless videos of her changing her child's sensor) then it's for entertainment. and why woukd you use a child for entertainment?
and like if she needed to record her changing the sensor to show a doctor then make them private. If there's one video of her doing it online to show others how she does it that would be excusable but I keep thinking about the video titled asmr. Like you have to be fucking sick in the head and an amoral bastard to do that
