Once you hear the arguments around Koojin/imagined couple/CP structure and obsessive fans as part of the greater realm of possession and how close the statements come to rape culture…you can’t unhear it.
The obsessive fans who objectify their faves:
“They looked into each other’s eyes and smiled! Why would they lie to me like that?” / “You smiled at me in the bar. Why would you pretend to be interested in my like that?”
“I have bought your merch and your tickets! That gives me the right to tell you what jobs you should accept/who you can and cannot hang out with!”/ “I bought you dinner! I have a right to expect X in return!”
And then there’s this argument:
“You know if they weren’t in a CP/Koojin paring, their fans wouldn’t be crazy like this! It’s why it should be demolished.” / “You know if you didn’t dress like a slut, he wouldn’t have attacked you. This is why ladies should dress demurely.”
