⭑.ᐟKOLE ANDERS (OC) X BATBRO!READER
⋆˙⟡SYNOPSIS: when jealousy first hits Kole for the first time, he doesn’t know what to do other than be a little scared you may want a human companion than an alien like him. You have to comfort him that you are still his.
⋆˙⟡GENRE: fluff + oneshot + reverse comfort
⋆˙⟡INFO: this OC is an OC I’ve written for my own amusement. He’s the adoptive son of Kori/Starfire. Full HUMAN name, Kole Anders. His Tamaranean name is Koldond'r. Reader is the twin brother of Damian, but Damian is the older twin of course. Im only a writer so you can imagine who he looks more like but all I can is he is handsome canonically, plus freakishly tall like a Tamaranean should be.
Summer sunlight hits your face as you lounge in the backyard, savoring your freedom from school. With a smirk, you soak up the warmth, reveling in the ease of relaxation that feels foreign after years of training. You and your twin brother, Damian, have left the League of Assassins behind, and now you find comfort at your biological father’s home. You love your mother, yes, but nothing compares to the peace that envelops you now.
However, that peace shatters as Damian steps outside, spotting you shirtless in your swimming trunks by the pool.
“Brother,” he announces coolly, making his way towards you, hands clasped behind his back. He settles by the feet of your beach chair.
“Big brother,” you respond with equal casualness, feeling his gaze on you. You adjust your sunglasses and finally acknowledge him.
You both share a knowing look, then burst into laughter. There’s an unshakeable bond between you, an understanding that you’re two halves of the same whole.
“I hate to interrupt your peace, but you have a certain guest eager to take you out today,” Damian says, his green eyes darting behind you while you stifle a chuckle.
“Let me guess,” you turn around and spot Kole, the Tamaranean who captured your heart years ago. “It’s that certain alien who adores me?” A wide grin spreads across your face as Kole matches your enthusiasm. “Affirmative!” Damian quickly sidesteps, knowing Kole's affectionate nature all too well.
Kole envelops you in a warm hug, lifting you off the beach chair. “I was hoping we could dive into the fun activities of our relationship,” he says, gently setting you down.
With those striking green eyes and fiery curls, he looks eager for the adventure ahead. You hum thoughtfully, then reply with a playful smile, “Sure, beloved. I’ll be ready in five.” Kole nods and rushes into the manor, excitement palpable in his every movement.
Damian watches you with a raised eyebrow. “What do you think he’ll attempt this time? Another elaborate scheme involving Silkie as his ‘waiter’ for a date?”
You chuckle as you head into the manor with your brother, making your way upstairs to your shared room. Things have shifted since moving to Gotham City, but you and Damian have always been a team.
“He’s improving, my dear brother. His dating skills are becoming more… refined,” you say, smirking as you pick out a simple outfit.
“Now, get out so I can prepare for my date, pest,” you tease, a playful insult aimed at Damian. He rolls his eyes, unfazed, as he leaves the room.
As you change, Kole’s indulging in Alfred’s mustard custards. The elderly butler tidies up after him while Kole savors each bite, delighting in the tangy flavor.
When you come downstairs, the moment feels electric. Kole stands there, grinning at you like you’re the most captivating person in the world. Adjusting your gold watch, you walk towards him, and he strides over, extending his hand like a true gentleman. You can’t help but chuckle as you entwine your fingers in his.
“Ready to go?” he asks, guiding you to the door, while Alfred watches with a smile, pleased to see his grandson being treated like royalty.
“Absolutely,” you reply with confidence. Before you know it, Kole swoops you up in a bridal carry and takes off into the sky.
Alfred watches, wide-eyed but ultimately content. While he could’ve driven you both to your date, seeing you together—full of life and joy—is all he truly desires to see.
Meanwhile, you and Kole soared through the air. Arms crossed, you hummed softly against Kole’s shoulder, who glanced down at you and tightened his hold. You couldn’t resist giving him a soft grin in return.
Kole’s heart raced, and despite his nine stomachs feeling a touch queasy, he felt exhilarated. He landed smoothly in front of a coffee shop, grateful that the bustling streets of Gotham kept most people distracted.
You slid out of his arms, leading the way into the café while Kole followed closely, clearly smitten. Before you could reach for the door, he swiftly opened it for you.
A small chuckle escaped your lips as you walked inside, greeted by soothing music and the comforting sounds of coffee makers and clattering cups. The air was rich with the aroma of fresh coffee and bagels.
As you approached the register, your hand intertwined with Kole’s, you scanned the menu above. The young cashier offered a friendly smile as he said, “Hello! Welcome to the Mocha Café. What can I get you?” You returned his greeting with enthusiasm.
“I’ll have the chocolate bagel and a mocha frappe,” you replied cheerfully. The cashier chuckled, “A very sweet choice for a sweet person.” You merely hummed, deciding not to engage with his flirting.
Kole, however, felt a surge of protectiveness at how the cashier's gaze lingered on you. His grip on your hand tightened, and his expression morphed into that of a scolded puppy, clearly uncomfortable with the attention you were receiving.
“What do you want, beloved?” you asked softly, sensing his turmoil. You tightened your grip on his fingers, anchoring him.
“Uh… I’ll have the—” he hesitated, frowning as the unfamiliarity of human food hit him.
You quickly pointed to an option featuring what he may like. “He’ll take the Caramel Macchiato and the everything bagel,” you stated confidently, ready to pay. But the cashier interrupted.
“Don't worry, it’s on the house,” he said, trying to charm you. Kole's frustration bubbled beneath the surface, feeling insulted that the guy dared to flirt right in front of him.
Releasing your hand, he muttered, “I’ll find us a place to sit,” his voice barely audible. You noticed his struggle to hide his feelings as he settled at a table with two seats facing each other.
As you took your place, the cashier audaciously faked a cough to capture your attention. You shot him a sharp glance. “Yes?” you asked firmly.
He handed you the drinks and pushed your coffee forward, attempting to keep your focus. “Think you might wanna hang out one day? You could ditch that guy,” he suggested, smirking.
“No.” You turned away, grabbing a napkin to blot out the number scrawled on your coffee cup, ignoring the shocked look on the guy's face.
Kole sat at the table, staring down at the smooth wood while tapping his golden finger in a steady rhythm. Doubts gnawed at him. Would you prefer someone ordinary over him? Could a human really understand you better than he could?
He bit his lip, his green eyes flickering over to you as you placed your coffee down. You met his gaze, steely determination clear in your expression.
“Whatever you’re thinking, stop it. I love you, you idiot,” you stated with conviction, taking your seat across from him.
“But—” he started, but you cut him off with an unwavering look.
“No buts. I love you for who you are. I’m not interested in some minimum-wage worker trying to charm me away from you.” Your words, coupled with the way you squeezed his hands resting on the table, brightened his face.
Kole’s heart swelled, feeling as if he were falling for you all over again. “I love you…” he murmured softly, interlocking your fingers together.
“I love you too, my beloved,” you replied, returning his grin with warmth and assurance.
