Welcome to your regularly scheduled episode of Tales From A Petstore. In this episode, we look at a guy who told me he wanted to buy two butterfly koi for his pond. When asked how big his pond was, he shrugged and said, "maybe 100 gallons? I dunno, I've already got a bunch of koi in there." I politely told him that each koi needs a minimum of 75 gallons (per the card on the front of the koi tank) and that with only 100 gallons, his pond is already overstocked, which is detrimental to the health of the fish. He looked at me and just said, "Yeah but just give me two koi." I politely told him that per our store policy, if we believe the animal will go home to improper conditions, we reserve the right to refuse the sale. I told him, "I'm sorry, sir, but with only a 100 gallons and there already being koi in the pond, your pond is overstocked and I can't sell you any more." He stormed off in a huff, bitched me out to the cashier, and left.

Meg is gonna hit the one foot mark this year!!! Not sure about Claudette, but she should reach it as well!
