In Honor of International Women's Day I thought I'd pay tribute to my absolute favorite female character from POTC So here are some interesting tidbits I have found on Calypso 1. She is the daughter of the titan Atlas (who in Greek Mythology was sentenced to hold up the earth) 2. Also in Greek Mythology she is not technically a goddess but a sea nymph 3. Her mother is also a sea nymph named Pleione 4. From her father she has at least 10 sisters and only 1 brother named Hyas 5. According to The Odyssey she trapped Odysseus on her island and attempted to make him her immortal husband 6. In some stories she has two sons by Odysseus named Nausithous and Nausinous And Now My Favorite Calypso Headcanons 1. She's pansexual and has zero gender preference 2. She is bipolar and has serious abandonment issues which is what causes a lot of her anger 3. Out of all her siblings her brother Hyas is the one she is closest to 4. Hyas is actually Koehler who chooses to live in a human body so that Calypso is not alone
