* Azért tört le ennek a koboznak a feje, mert ragasztásnál nem illeszkedtek egymáshoz kellően a darabok, így a ragasztó is csak kis felületen tartotta. Először megtisztítottam az illesztendő részeket, majd furnérral meglapoltam, és újraalakítottam a szoros illeszkedéshez. * This koboz broke its head because the gluing surfaces were not in contact with each other totally. This way the glue could hold only a small portion of the head mortise. First I cleaned the joining parts, than glued veneer shims to it. After drying I shaped the gluing surfaces once again, so they are fully contacting each other. #koboz #fejtörés #brokenheadstock #hangszerész #luthier

Daily workshop: the last picture of the finished koboz-lute hybrid, now it’s called lozbakton

I just found this spiffy performance so thought I’d share it to round out the posts about the cobza (also “koboz”) - In Hungary I guess it’s a koboz and in Romania a cobza (and there’s sniping in the comments about exactly that). Either way this is a nice performance and a nice clear sound.
