The E-reader, a device thatâs been hated by many booklovers and storyreaders. I can imagen why.. More electronical devices in your life, books should be made out of paper, not out of batteries and other electronical parts. Or with this electronic device, it will be a matter of time that libraryâs are going to disapear slowly. And than we havenât mentioned the battery life yet.. These are just a few reasons why we hate E-readers so much. I really can imagen, but what we all forget is the benefits of the E-reader! And they have a few benefits, trust me! Like, bringing hundreds of books with you while youâre traveling. Hundreds of books, even thousands of books if you have a micro SD-card. And that without the weight of those hundreds and thousands of books. Itâs a light device. Books with over 300 pages can be heavy, an E-reader will never be a heavy device, no matter how many books or how many pages a book has.
I love real books, I love the smell, I love to hold them in my hands, I love the covers and I love to turn around the pages. But still, with all my love for real books, I bought myself an E-reader three years ago. My mother got an E-reader for Christmas from her boyfriend and she loved it. Ofcourse, I was very dissapointed. How could you read books on an electronical device, when you can have those lovely books in your hands, turning pages and smell the books when you bought/borrowed them. Yes, I was dissapointed. But when I visited my mom after Christmas, I looked at her E-reader, read some pages, tapped away some chapters and I suddenly understood why she loved it so much. First of all, itâs a good looking device. The E-reader I have (the kobo touch) is available in the colors white/purple, white/baby blue, white/silver and fully black. You can have so many books on one device, youâll never have that moment; when you finish your book, but you forgot to bring a new book with you. This device has always an extra book ready to read. And when you forgot to update your library.. with a wifi signal, you are able to buy yourself new books in the online bookstore. You will never have that moment again, that you donât have a book to read.
I bought the Kobo Touch e-reader. Kobo is quite a familiar brand and I have heard many good things about it. With some research on the Internet and watching some videoâs on YouTube, I knew I wanted this device. Then, I had to choose a color. Like I said before, the Kobo Touch was available in different colors. WAS available in different colors, because while Iâm writing this review about my Kobo, I found out itâs no longer available anymore. Kobo came up with a newer version of the one I bought. The newer version is the Kobo Touch 2.0. Itâs the same E-reader but than a newer version. Unfortunate, I saw on the internet that this version is only available in black. So thatâs a shame!
Iâm very happy with my Kobo E-reader. This Kobo E-reader is known as the budget version of an E-reader. Well, I disagree about that. Yes, you can call it a low buget E-reader because it was âŹ80,- and when you compare it with others itâs not that expensive, but I think itâs quality is quite well! The bookcovers are pretty and it has fast software. Besides that, I think all E-readers has the same E-ink, so I canât imagen the quality is much lower than other E-readers. I have some good experience with my Kobo E-reader and I still love it every time I read my book on it. What I like about the Kobo E-reader, is that gives you medals when you have accomplished a certain goal. For example: You get the Primetime medal if you read 5 times between 20:00u and 22.00u. Thatâs a populair time to sit and watch television. So if you read 5 times in that timecircle, you will get this medal. Those challenges are very motivating to read more. Itâs a nice extra! And then, when you stop reading and you shut down your E-reader, the cover of your currently reading book will appear fullsize on your device. Quite nice!
Itâs a very good device and I recommend it to everyone who doesnât want to pay that much money on an E-reader. âŹ80,- is already quite an amount of money and not everyone is able to pay that. If you donât know if youâre going to like this way of reading, this is the perfect E-reader for the first time. When it satisfies, you can always buy yourself a more expensive one with more features like a display with a light in it or so. Itâs your choice.
And remember.. When you buy yourself an E-reader, it doesnât mean you canât read real books anymore. I mean, my bookcase is still growing with books and I still buy a lot of books. Nothing can replace real books! Itâs just an easy device.
