Back in April, I was invited to join pianist @monikaherzig and the incredible players of #SHEROES [ Monika Herzig + @lenisternmusic + @reutregevtrombone + @karinacolis + #JamieBaum + #ingridjensen ] to share my experiences of working as a professional musician in Brazil, in this panel about #WomenInJazz organized by @thenewschool. โช๏ธ โซ๏ธ Later on, we got to play a cool show. Karina was back from India, throwing it down on the drums, Leni had her awesome blues guitar thing going on, and the other girls were on ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅ. โซ๏ธ โช๏ธ It was such an epic day: to go back to the place that supported me on my dream of earning a music degree ๐ฉ๐ฝโ๐๐ต๐ถ- walking around the halls on the 5th and 6th floors while hearing the cats play sessions gave me chills - ๐๐ผlistening to my bandmates tell about the challenges they went through to learn an instrument; and finally, making incredible music with the octet at the #NewSchoolPerformanceSpace ๐. โช๏ธ โซ๏ธ It reminded me of how much I ๐music ๐ถand being able to learn from so many artists here in New York.
