Some male Hashiras + kagaya reaction to seeing your facial scars for the first time
Giyuu tomioka
You and Giyuu were sitting beside each other quietly in the room that was lid by a small candle
You both just ended a misson with demon and took a room to rest in in the wisteria house
You were just reading a book and Giyuu looking out the window and seemed to be in deep silence as you both basked in each other comfort in silence
You and Giyuu know very well about your feelings for each other for years but neither of you said a thing and when giyuu finally got the guts to tell you before the misson you interrupted him saying that "we should get going, we have a misson"
Of course you also have feelings for Giyuu and you know he knows
But you just couldn't let him be with you, he deserve someone so much better
Someone who is beautiful, someone who do not cringe at themselves when they look at the mirror, someone who thier parents didn't look at them with disgust when they came one day home bloody with a cut the went from thier upper left forhead to the middle of her chin passing by thier eye and lip in return damaging her left eye with a few more deep wound on her face that it was almost unrecognisable and kicked her out of the house because "she became too ugly for them to look at her face", someone who he will be able to look at them and say they are beautiful without fooling them or thier self
You knew he would probably change his mind when he sees what's under that mask anyway, so you saved him the effort and the awful sight
No one has ever seen your face other than your 'family' which was almost a decade ago and oyakata_sama and amane sama when they found you crying alone in the forest and took you in when you were almost 11 years old, they wanted to train you to be a demon slayer and you agreed but on one condition: covering your face with a mask and making them swear that whatever happens and no matter how much the hashiras insist they will not tell them or even hint what's under that mask
Of course they agree but not before trying to get you to believe that you are beautiful just as you are and there is no reason for you to hide your face as it proves just how strong you are at such a young age which almost resulted in you rejecting the offer and walking away from them before they finally agreed to your condition
"y/n..." you were pulled out your thoughts as you heard giyuu call your name softly
You turned your head and was caught off guard a bit as giyuu was sitting close to you almost your arm touching his while he was looking at you as if he was looking at your soul
When did he move here? Were you that deep in thought?
"mm..?"
He kept looking at you for a moment before answering "l have feelings for you" he blurt out
You stared at him for a moment before looking down at your lap where the forgotten book was
"I know...". "and you have for me too..."
"I know" you whispered
"then why do you-" "because you don't deserve me"
"...What?" well that definitely wasn't the answer he was expecting
"nothing.. Let's just go back to sle-" you said as you got up going to your futon before he grapped your wrist and stopped you and pulled you back down this time even closer as you could feel his breath through your mask
Giyuu cupped the back of your neck slowly as if not to startle you
"I love you, and i want you". "you won't after you see what is under that mask". "i don't care"
He slowly reached for your mask but you quickly held his wrist stopping him mid way
"please giyuu.. Don't do this" "i have to"
"no you don't.." you could feel your eyes swelling up with tears "please... You are just gonna run away like every one else"
"do you think that low of me?" you stayed silent and then replied "no, because cringing when you see something ugly is natural"
"you are not ug-"
"you don't know that!â"
"i don't need to... I love you"
"... You won't beâ" "yes l'll be"
You slowly and Hasitatly let go of his hand
"I warned you... But just know won't blame you if you put that mask right where it was after one look" you whispered
He didn't say anything he just put his hand on your mask and slowly took it off as you closed your eyes
Just as he completely took the mask y could resist the urge to look down and cover your face with your hair since you were letting it down
But just as you did he put his hand under your chin and lifted it up making your scarred face alimnated by the dim moonlight
You waited... Waited for him to cringe and look away... For the disgusted face and an apology while returning the mask for you to put back on... But he didn't..
Instead he just dropped the mask to the ground to cup your face with both hands and make you look at him
Instead of disgust you saw love, sympathy, admiration
He then leaned closer to you and leaned his forehead on yours whispering "you are beautiful..."
A few tears which were already in your eyes blurring your vision fell down as you closed your eyes and shook your head "no i am not"
"yes you are" "stop looking at me like that"
"like what?". "like i am actually b-beautiful"
"because you are". "no i am notâ" your voice shook
"I love you.." "no you doâ" he pressed his lips against yours shutting you up
He pulled away after a few seconds of his lips touching your scarred and rough ones
" yes i do.. More than anything" he said as he pulled you in a hug
It was so peaceful, you in his embrace with tears rolling down your face into his shoulder, with your mask on the floor away from you for the first time in years, the candle Flickring that seem to be the only noise in the room beside your heartbeats
No sobbing, no talking, no fighting
Just the two of you, basking each other comfort
Tengen uzui
âYo!! Those are such flashy moves!!Only whatâs expected from the god of festivals soon-to-be wifeâTengen cheered from the side as you sheathed your sword silently without answering him and walking away
You would think the amount of times tengen has proposed to you and has been rejected countlessly would make him lose hope at least a bit but nooooo
This is uzui tengen we are talking about
When he sets his mind on something he will get it
And itâs not like he is harassing you or something
He knows you also feel something for him too but something is stopping you which he suspects is something to do with the mask you never take off
He has proposed to you literally more than 12 times in less than a year every time with a different approach because repeating is unflamboyent
The first time tengen proposed to you was under fireworks of course
âY/n .. I admit your personality, looks plus your flashy strength and of course body have gravitated me towards your ever-shining glow! Will you have the honor of having me the flashiest god of festivals ,the most handsome hashira and the flashiest, uzui tengen as your husband?!!!â Said tengen shouting on top of the hill as the fireworks started behind him
âŠ
SilenceâŠ
Werenât we supposed to be on a mission
âNoâ
Tengen laughed
âOf course!! Who would ever reject the god oâwait what?!â He cut himself off not quite expecting the dull ânoâ
You just walked away
âHey! That was such an unflashy way of rejecting the god of festivals! At least if youâre going to reject me reject me with flashiness!â
âŠ
No reaction
Just walking away
âWell thatâs fine then Iâll just have to convince you in the most flamboyant ways!â
âPlease donâtâ
⊠sense then itâs been⊠hell
Tengen would propose to you almost every month
Itâs driving you insane!!
But well⊠itâs not like you donât want to marry him
Hell have seen that man
And donât start with his wives itâs like a package deal
But no ⊠I mean whatâs the point of saying yes if heâs gonna run away if he had seen your face anyway
For god sake have you seen his wives?!
They gonna make anyone swing both ways
âŠ
The breaking point came the 12th time when he came to your home around noon while you were getting ready for bed ( you were on a mission for 2 days and just came back exhausted)
You were finally dressed in your sleepwear and took off your mask to sleep when suddenly the door of your bedroom busted open with a loud âSURPRISE!!!â Came tengen with a glittery gift in his hand
âGUESSING WHAT I HAVE GOT Yâohâ tengen faulterd slightly at sight of your face in awe which you misinterpreted as disgust
You were absolutely mesmerizing for him
He almost couldnât look away while you were looking at him in both horror and anger
âWhat are you doing here and how dare you come into my room barging in like you own the fucking place??!â You said absolutely fuming for your interrupted privacy
Tengen swallowed his throat slowly backing away as he was slightly pale from the scare
Not from your beautiful face but from your anger
For the long period tengen has known you he has never ever seen you this angry but once
The amount of the demons who died in those few moments almost rival all his kills after he became a hashira
He slightly shivered at the memory
âWell there!! You saw me! now, run away and throw up in disguist at this horrible sight!â
âHow dare you, how dare youâ you muttered absolutely devastated that he saw the way you look and basically just stood there waiting for the impact of him say something like âI didnât expect you to look like thatâ and just walk away in disgust and never talk to you again when you suddenly felt hands cupping your cheeks softly
He softly tilted your face up to meet his and took a deep breath
âNow now I wonât allow you saying such unflashy words about my beautiful girl! No amount of words could describe how artistic and powerful those scars are! Those scars are a result of blood, sweat and tears. Of hardships the even the strongest men could not bear! If you were to ask me you should be showing off those beautiful marks with flashiness!â
âHuh..â
Your breath hitched. You stared at him, stunned, unable to process the softness in his voice, the reverence in his touch, the absolute sincerity in his eyes. You blinked once. Twice. The silence between you stretched, heavy with disbelief.
âYou⊠youâre not disgusted?â you whispered, voice cracking.
Tengen scoffed, gently brushing his thumb across your cheek. âDisgusted? Iâm enchanted. You think Iâd chase you for a year just to run away at the sight of your face? Thatâs the most unflashy thing Iâve ever heard.â
You tried to pull away, but he held firmânever forceful, just steady. âIâve seen beauty in all forms. But you? Youâre a masterpiece carved by battle and resilience. You shine brighter than any firework Iâve ever seen.â
Your heart thudded painfully in your chest. You wanted to believe him. You really did. But the years of hiding, of assuming, of fearing⊠they didnât vanish in a moment.
âI donât understand,â you murmured. âYou have wives who look like they stepped out of a painting. Why would you want me?â
Tengen grinned, that familiar flamboyant spark returning to his eyes. âBecause youâre the only one who ever made me work for it. The only one who rejected me twelve times and still haunted my thoughts every single day. Youâre strong, brilliant, terrifyingly fierceâand now that Iâve seen you fully, I know youâre also breathtaking.â
You blinked again, this time tears threatening to spill.
He stepped back dramatically, pulling out a velvet pouch from his glittery gift bag. âNow! Before you say anything else unflashy, allow me to try again. Proposal number thirteen, lucky number!â
He dropped to one knee, the pouch opening to reveal a ring unlike any youâd ever seenâgold, crimson, and black, forged with the same metal used in Nichirin blades, glinting like fire under the sunlight.
âY/n, my fierce flame, my unyielding warrior, my most dazzling obsessionâwill you finally, finally allow me the honor of being your husband, your partner, your forever festival?â
You stared at him, mouth agape, heart pounding.
And thenâfinallyâyou laughed. A real, full laugh. âYouâre insane.â
âOnly for you.â
You shook your head, tears slipping down your cheeks. âFine. Yes. Yes, you flashy idiot.â
Tengen whooped so loudly the birds scattered from the trees. âSHE SAID YES!!â he shouted, spinning you around in his arms before planting a kiss on your forehead with theatrical flair.
From outside, you heard squealsâhis wives had clearly been eavesdropping.
And just like that, your quiet world exploded into color, chaos, and love.
Flashy love.
Rengkou kyojuro
âHELLO MY FRIEND!!â Kyojuros voice basically shook the doors of your estate as he stood there with bento boxs the tower over both of you
âI WAS PASSING BY AND I HEARD YOU JUST CAME BACK FROM YOUR MISSION SO I THOUGHT WHY NOT SHAIR MY MEAL SINCE I HAVE GOT MANY?!YOU MUST ME HUNGRY!!â He said voice booming and face completely flushed with red and sweating
âUhh sure if you donât min-â
âOF COURSE I DONT!! WHY WOULD I MIND SHAIRING A MEAL WITH THE WOMAN I LO-I MEAN- A CLOSE FRIEND!!YEAH THATâS RIGHT A CLOSE FRIEND! HA HA HA HA!â He laughed nervously as he started to sweat even more if thatâs possible
They stepped inside together, the towering stack of bento boxes wobbling slightly in Kyojuroâs arms as he tried to maintain his usual flamboyant composure. You led him to the small dining area, your wooden mask still firmly in place, only lifting it slightly when you sat down to eat.
Kyojuro sat across from you, posture straight, smile wideâbut his eyes kept flicking toward you, trying to catch glimpses beneath the mask. He was sweating more than usual, and not just from the walk.
âTHE FOOD IS DELICIOUS, ISNâT IT?â he boomed, voice cracking slightly.
You nodded, chewing quietly, confused by his strange energy. He was usually loud, yes, but this was⊠different. Nervous. Fidgety.
He cleared his throat, then tried again, softer this time. âIâve always admired you, you know.â
You paused mid-bite, mask still lifted just enough to eat. âAdmired?â
âYes,â he said, eyes now steady. âYour strength. Your courage. The way you fight without hesitation. Youâre⊠incredible.â
You blinked, unsure how to respond.
âIâve wanted to say it for a while,â he continued, voice growing more earnest. âI know Iâve never seen your face, but thatâs never mattered to me. What I feelâitâs not about appearances. Itâs about you. And Iâd like to court you, if youâd allow it.â
Your heart stuttered. You lowered your mask slightly more, just enough for him to see the edge of the scars that lined your jaw. You looked away.
âI⊠I donât think thatâs a good idea,â you said quietly. âYou havenât seen me. Not really. You donât know what I look like. Iâm not like your usual admirers. Iâm⊠scarred. Ugly.â
Kyojuroâs eyes widened, and he leaned forward, voice firm but gentle. âDonât say that.â
You flinched, but he didnât back down.
âScars are proof of survival. Of battles fought and won. Theyâre marks of honor. You think Iâd be repulsed by the face of someone whoâs braved more than most could endure? Never.â
You looked at him, mask now halfway down, vulnerability etched into every line of your face.
âIâm not beautiful,â you whispered.
Kyojuro smiled, eyes warm. âYou are to me.â
Silence hung between you, thick with emotion.
âI donât need perfection,â he said. âI need you. The warrior who fights with fire in her soul. The woman who wears her scars like armor. Thatâs who I want beside me.â
Your fingers trembled as you lowered the mask completely.
Kyojuro didnât flinch. Didnât look away. His smile only softened, eyes shining with something deeper than admiration.
âThen⊠okay,â you said, voice barely audible. âIâll think about it â
He beamed, practically glowing. âEXCELLENT!! I PROMISE TO BE THE MOST HONORABLE, MOST PASSIONATE SUITOR YOUâVE EVER HAD!!â His voice almost cracked the windows
You chuckled, cheeks warming. Maybe, just maybe, this wouldnât be so bad.
Especially with someone who saw youânot just your face, but your fire.
Shinzwaga Sanemi
The battle had been brutal.
Blood soaked the earth, demon limbs scattered like broken dolls. Sanemi stood panting, his blade dripping, eyes scanning for herâyou. You were slumped against a tree, mask cracked, chest heaving erratically.
âOi!â he shouted, rushing to your side. âStay with me!â
You tried to speak, but your breath came in shallow gasps. The mask was restricting your airflow, but your trembling hands clutched it tightly.
âNo,â you rasped. âDonât⊠take it off.â
âYouâre bleeding out,â he growled, panic lacing his voice. âYou need air. You need help.â
âI said no,â you whispered, tears mixing with blood.
Sanemi hesitated. He knew how fiercely you guarded your face, how you never let anyone see the scars that marked your skin. But your body went limp in his arms, consciousness slipping away.
âDamn it,â he muttered, voice cracking. âIâm sorry.â
With trembling fingers, he removed the mask.
And froze.
Your faceâscarred, battered, beautiful in its defianceâwas finally revealed. His breath caught, not in horror, but in awe.
He scooped you up and sprinted toward the Butterfly Estate, shouting for help the moment he arrived. The medics rushed you inside, and Sanemi paced like a caged animal, fists clenched, heart hammering.
Hours passed.
Then finally, you stirred.
Your eyes fluttered open, and the first thing you saw was himâsitting beside your bed, arms crossed, eyes red-rimmed but sharp.
âYouâre awake,â he said, voice low.
You reached for your face instinctively, but the mask was gone. Panic surged.
âYou saw me,â you whispered, voice hoarse.
âYeah,â he said. âI did.â
You turned away, shame burning through you. âI knew it. Youâre disgusted.â
Sanemi stood abruptly, fists clenched. âDonât you ever say that again.â
You blinked, startled.
âLook I am not good at these things so listen to me for the first and last time, I donât give two shits about your face,â he snapped. âYou think I care about some scars? Iâve got my own. You think Iâve been fighting beside you all this time because I was waiting for some perfect porcelain doll?â
He stepped closer, voice softening. âIâve watched you fight like hell. Iâve seen you protect people, take hits that would drop anyone else. Youâre strong. Youâre brave. Youâre you. And Iâve been in love with you for a long damn time.â
Your eyes widened, tears threatening again.
âI didnât say anything because I thought youâd push me away,â he admitted. âBut seeing you like that, bleeding out, refusing help just to hide your faceâit pissed me off. Because you deserve better. You deserve someone who sees you and stays. And Iâm staying.â
Silence
Then, slowly, you reached out, fingers brushing his hand.
âYouâre insane,â you whispered.
He smirked. âTakes one to love one.â
And for the first time in a long time, you let yourself believe that maybeâjust maybeâyou were worthy of love. Scars and all.
Iguro obanai
The battle was vicious.
Blood soaked the earth, the air thick with the scent of ash and steel. You stood your ground, blade trembling in your grip, mask cracked from a demonâs final blow. Obanai had arrived just in time to finish it offâbut not before your mask split down the middle, revealing the scars youâd hidden for years.
You gasped, clutching the broken pieces to your face, eyes wide with panic.
Obanai froze.
He saw you.
And you ran.
You didnât wait for his reaction. You didnât want to hear the pity, the horror, the rejection. You fled into the forest, heart pounding, tears blurring your vision.
But he followed.
You collapsed near a stream, breath ragged, hands trembling as you tried to piece the mask back together. You didnât hear him approachâuntil you felt his presence behind you.
âI saw you,â he said quietly.
You flinched, refusing to turn around. âI didnât want you to.â
âI know.â
Silence
Then, slowly, you heard the sound of fabric shifting. You turned, confusedâand your breath caught.
Obanai was unwrapping the bandages from his face.
You stared, stunned, as he revealed the jagged scar that ran from the corner of his mouth across his cheek. His expression was solemn, vulnerable.
âI wear these for the same reason you wear your mask,â he said. âTo hide what the world might not understand. To protect myself from judgment.â
You couldnât speak.
âIâve loved you for a long time,â he continued, voice low. âNot for your face. For your strength. Your silence. Your loyalty. The way you fight like you have nothing left to loseâbut still protect others like you have everything to give.â
Your eyes welled up. âBut Iâm notââ
âYou are,â he interrupted. âYouâre beautiful. Not despite your scars. With them.â
He stepped closer, gently reaching for your hand.
âYouâre not alone,â he whispered.
You looked at himâreally lookedâand saw the truth in his eyes. The pain. The love. The understanding
. And for the first time, you let the mask fall completely.
You let him see you.
And he didnât look away.
And neither did you.
Kagaya Ubuyashiki
Sweat dropping to the floor, tight fists on the knees shaking
Kagaya lays awake restless in his study
47 days.
You have been missing for more than 47 days with no trace of you
He has sent all the hashiras ,the kakushis even the crows to look for you
Still no trace of you⊠his beloved wife
The mother of his five children
He had done everything his sick frail body would allow him to
The hashiras are all worried for their master
He has been restless when heâs supposed to be resting
Not smiling as much anymore and it worries them to the bone
All the hashiras sat in front of their master as the meeting started when they heard rushing footsteps and the door bursting open with a kakushi looking absolutely mortified
âWe found her!â He said shaking looking like he had lived a nightmare
Those simple three words shook the tea cup out of their masterâs hand and straight to the floor in pieces and made him immediately try to stand up with the help of the hashiras
âY/nâŠâ he mumbled in hurry to get to you when they found aoi standing in front of the door
âI am really sorry oyakata_sama!â She bows deeply âI canât let you in orders from Shinobu sama! She has to focus!â
Focus on what?
âAoi what happened to my wife?â He said absolutely terrified of the answer
Oh he never hoped for his visions to be so wrong so bad
Aoi stood there shaking about to cry with the gaze of all the worried hashiras and their master when they heard something caused a shiver to their bones
A scream
A bone curling scream that could only be caused by pure agony
And itâs coming from you
Inside that room
âY/nâŠâ he mumbled feeling himself shaking suddenly his legs couldnât hold his weight anymore and almost fell to the ground if not for the two hashiras Kyo and mitsuri holding him up and slowly lowering him to sit on his knees on the ground
âOyakata sama!â They fret over their masterâs health but he couldnât hear them over your agonizing crys that almost never stopped
âDo you believe that I would be able to rest freely while my wife is in pain? What man would I be if leave my wife alone? I am not leavingâ they heard a finale tone in his voice and decided to let him be but just sit with him and wait
Oh how he wishes that he could be inside holding your hand, comforting you, kissing you but he knows better than to interfere
---
Ten hours.
Ten hours of agonizing screams, of whispered prayers, of Kagaya sitting motionless outside the door, his hand trembling but never leaving the floor. The Hashira had long stopped trying to convince him to rest. They simply stayed with him, silent sentinels to his grief.
Then, finally, the door creaked open.
Aoi stepped out, her eyes red-rimmed and exhausted. âSheâs stable,â she whispered. âShinobu-sama says⊠you may see her now.â
Kagaya didnât wait. With Mitsuri and Kyojuro helping him to his feet, he entered the room slowly, reverently, as if stepping into a shrine.
There you layâbandaged from head to toe, unmoving, pale as moonlight. The scent of medicine and blood hung heavy in the air. Kagayaâs breath caught, and he reached out, his fingers brushing your wrapped hand.
âI want a bed beside hers,â he said softly. âI will not leave her side.â
They brought in a futon, placed it close enough that he could reach you. His hand never left yours. Though blind, he tried to feel your skin, your warmthâbut the bandages were thick, and his heart ached with the distance.
Later, he asked the Demon Slayer who had found you.
âShe was in a cabin,â the young man said, voice hollow. âDeep in the woods. Strung up like a puppet⊠threads slicing into her skin. Muzan wanted your location. She never spoke. Not once.â
Kagayaâs hand clenched. âShe endured all that⊠for me.â Oh muzan has hell to pay
Weeks passed. The war ended. Muzan was gone. And miraculously, Kagayaâs health began to return. His sight, long lost, was restored. But he never left your side.
Then, one quiet morning, you stirred.
Your eyes fluttered open, and the world came rushing back in pain and light. The bandages were gently removed by the Butterfly Estate nurses, revealing the scarsâdeep, jagged, permanent. You didnât speak. You simply turned your face away, letting your hair fall forward, hiding yourself.
You didnât tell him. You couldnât.
But he noticed.
And one afternoon, by the lake where the cherry blossoms had begun to bloom again, he found you sitting alone, hair veiling your face like a curtain of shame.
âYouâre hiding,â he said gently.
You flinched. âIâm not.â
âYou are. From me. From yourself.â
You turned away, tears threatening. âYou shouldnât be with someone like me. Iâm ruined. Ugly. You deserve someone beautiful. Someone whole.â
Silence.
Then, Kagaya stepped forward, kneeling beside you, his hand reaching for yours.
âY/n,â he said, voice like silk and steel. âDo you know what beauty is to me?â
You didnât answer.
âBeauty is the woman who endured hell and never broke. Beauty is the soul that chose love over betrayal, pain over surrender. Beauty is the scars that tell a story of devotion so fierce it defied the demon king himself.â
Your tears fell freely now.
âYou are not ruined. You are revered. You are not ugly. You are mine.â
You sobbed, shoulders shaking, and he pulled you into his arms.
âI love you,â he whispered against your hair. âI loved you before the scars. I love you with them. I will love you beyond them.â
You clung to him, crying into his chest, and finally whispered back, âI love you too.â
And beneath the cherry blossoms, with the lake shimmering beside you, you kissedâtwo souls stitched together by pain, devotion, and a love that not even death could sever.
