“The C.O.P.E. event today is a poverty simulation. It is meant to allow the participants to get a glimpse of what it’s like for college students who are trying to work towards their academic goal in higher education, while they're also struggling with economic instability. I think my hope is that people will understand how difficult and how complex it can be to juggle college with poverty. I hope that it help people have an emotional connection to what that’s like. The counter behind me is counting down a twenty minute time period.
