“Roderick Walker is an unarmed black man who was taking a Lyft in Georgia with his family when police officers pulled over the Lyft driver. The police claimed that they pulled over the driver because of a missing/broken tail light. They preceded to ask the driver for his ID, and when the driver said he didn’t have an ID on him, they asked Roderick and his girlfriend for their IDs. Walker, knowing his rights, knew that he didn’t have to present his ID; especially because he wasn’t driving and was simply a passenger. Walker asked the officers why he was being asked for his identification, and the police involved demanded he get out of the car. Roderick got out of the car and was forced to the ground. During the arrest, the police officers beat Roderick up badly and even went so far as to put him in a chokehold, as well as, punch him repeatedly in the face. We’re not going to post the video of the brutal arrest because it would be very insensitive and the video itself is graphic and triggering. When you search up this incident. Almost none of the headlines or stories mention his name. Please say his NAME. Again, his name is Roderick Walker. He is a person who has been one of many victims of police brutality. He is a father. He is a son. He is a cousin. He is a human being.” @blmresources thank you for allowing me to repost this perfect account of you and another black man being brutalized by the police. 🙏🏻 #EndSystemicRacism #BlackLivesMatter #EndPoliceViolence #WhitePrivilege #KnowYourPrivilege #AllBlackLivesMatter #EndRacism #NoJusticeNoPeace #roderickwalker https://www.instagram.com/p/CFJU9EKBh8O/?igshid=fjtstrv6mt54
