Perhaps I’m stupid af (which is possible), but I was also raised in the church and just around Christians in general, and they always said that a.d. stood for after death. Then a few weeks ago I was like. So wait what are the ~30 years of Jesus’s life called and how do we track them? What in between b.c. (before Christ) and a.d. (after death)??? Turns out a.d. actually stands for “anno domini” (the year of our lord, aka: Jesus’s birth). Perhaps this is common knowledge, but the fact that I hear everyone say after death makes me think otherwise. Curious to see!
