SMALL RANT TIME
I hate it when people pick and choose their facts and act like their opinion is the better option while ignoring the facts that prove their stance wrong or at least flawed. Yes it’s nice to have gun control but it’s also nice to not be afraid of your coworker shooting up your workplace because they have a bad day. Yes Veganism means you think a lot of animals can live but there’s still demand so they’re still getting slaughtered and if they don’t get eaten that animal literally died for nothing as the harvested parts completely get trashed. You may be Atheist but that doesn’t mean that the belief and rituals tied to worshiping a god/goddess won’t help someone psychologically.
Now there’s a difference between simply not knowing before and wanting to fact check, or wanton ignorance. With the first, you’re wanting to make sure that the facts are correct before you let your opinions be swayed. With the second, you are simply choosing to deny the facts that could lead to a better understanding of the world around you, as well as a better understanding of the topic and a better voice to speak out on that topic.
It’s just annoying; I deal with stupid all the time and I know tumblr is kinda known for this kind of bullshit but it doesn’t mean I can’t complain about it.
