What yarn are you using? It looks really soft and easy to work with.
This is weareknitters.com The Wool.  Just 100% Peruvian wool.  It’s a lot softer than other single ply wool only yarns I’ve used.  It’s usually very scratchy as I drag it over my finger, but this is really soft - also wet splices really well.
