Ad Practitioners acquires Knoq to move the startup’s door-to-door marketing approach online – TechCrunch
Knoq (formerly known as Polis) was a startup that recruited representatives to go door-to-door in their neighborhoods, talking up client products and services. So for obvious reasons, it faced challenges in 2020. “We stopped knocking on doors in February, and this summer, we were trying to figure out what the path forward was,” founder and CEO Kendall Tucker told me. Power in numbers--when neighbors in a community connect, help is just a Knoq away
A clever name for a clever idea, Knoq develops tools to help neighbors create stronger connections with one another. They strive to create a world where people are living better lives because they can more easily connect and work with their neighbors. Knoq provides people with the comfort of knowing that a support system is, quite literally, just a knock on the door (or in this case, a knock on a website?) away.
Knoq.com was born about a year ago when three dads realized the potential neighbors possess to make a huge impact on each other’s lives. A neighborhood represents a power in numbers within a small proximity—a winning combination to really get things done. Neighbors can help each other with household projects, provide recommendations for services, gather to make (often discounted) group purchases, throw neighborhoods events, and pair up for activities such as jogging or biking—the possibilities really are limitless!
As this point in time, Knoq.com does a great job of making it easy for neighbors to purchase household products and services in groups, but this idea has to potential for so much more. The founders have some solid ideas for growth, but need to test, learn, and implement these new concepts. Participation in the Kick Incubator will make this happen. Funds raised to this point will go toward paying their tuition for this incubator, which will connect them with the mentors and guidance they need to fully develop their vision. And since they have hit their tipping point, any additional funds raised beyond this will be used to make the vision they develop in the incubator a reality.
