Perhaps it was her paranoia... But multiple times now, Emily felt uneasy in the presence of 'The Knight'. She didn't like new Survivors who looked at her strangely. It made her feel recognized... After all, Emily was one to blend into her surroundings. No one really noticed her unless they had a reason to. And Mr. Sterling certainly kept his eyes on her for a while...or, again, perhaps it was that dreadful paranoia of hers.
Regardless of what it was, the sensation seemed to fade with time. Either that or he stopped watching her. It made her feel a bit more comfortable in her own skin, but she still kept that wariness around 'The Knight'. He seemed like a charming man, but that unsettling feeling inside...she couldn't shake it.
The box of books in her arms was quite heavy for a thin-bodied woman like herself, yet she loathed to bother anyone for help. Emily stepped into the room, well on her way to her clinic, but then that feeling washed over her again. The sensation of feeling watched... It caused her heart to pound, a reaction she knew was foolish and yet couldn't shake. So she turned her head to see who it was, eyes on her. Of course. She swallowed, and she wanted to take a step back as he approached. But her feet remained planted.
" No, " she said before she could stop herself. Emily then realized how unusual that sounded...and she didn't want more suspicions to arise about her. She swallowed. " I am...fine. "
