D’you know what I like to look at instead of sleeping?
That’s right, knife blocks. A set of matching knives that go in to a holder that is only sometimes a block. Would you like to see some of my faves from my last perusal? Of course you do.
Richardson Sheffield Scandi
A five knife set, stainless steel blades with tasteful ash wood scales held in place with no less than three rivets each. All contained in a matching knife block. They are so professional looking you’ll fell like famous TV chef as you use the carving knife to open another pack of custard creams.
But maybe you want something wild, how about
Taylors Eye Witness 5 Piece Iridescent Kitchen Knife Block
Not only is that name a mouthful, these blades are an eyes sore. This psychedelic finish is made possible by crimes against humanity titanium nitride, which is normally gold in colour but thanks to advances in heat treating it now looks like a chemical spill.
Now of course no one would actually buy those. People today want subtle style but with a little flash. They want the
Argos Home 5 Piece Revolving Knife Block Set
Black ceramic coated blades with rose gold accents held vertically on a rotating base. Don’t let the Argos Home brand dissuade you, they make quality products. Though the 1 year guarantee doesn’t instill confidence. The blades will be fine but the rubber coating will peel off in 6 months.
And I hear you, the black blades and rose gold accents are just right but you don’t want something from a child's playset, for you I have the
Tower 5 Piece Knife Block
These fine knives are now stainless steel but still as black as your soul. All displayed in the same transparent holder as the Taylors Eye Witness Knife Block so everyone can see that, yes, these are TOWER brand knives.
And for those you like rose gold more than having good taste, we have the
Tower Marble 5 Piece Knife Set
Now with all Rose Gold blades and marble effect handles. But if having an 8 inch Rose Gold bread knife didn’t let your friends know that you have the same tastes as a coked up interior decorator who works exclusively with CEOs of video game companies, the blades have a Damascus pattern.
And by Damascus patterned I of course mean wood grain. Yeah that’s just wood grain.
I hope you’ve enjoyed this selection of Knife Blocks I’ve found today and hopefully this has informed you on some knife blocks you might buy some day. I would personally buy the Richardson Sheffield Scandi set but they are €130 and I’m not allowed to buy anymore. Apparently buying kitchen knives is not an acceptable way of coping with a worldwide pandemic. Also something about running out of counter space and the “knife” drawer is full.
