Midorima doesn't underestimate Kuroko, but he has full trust in Kise's strength despite the fact that at this point Kise is a league below the rest of the GoM.

I think it's really wholesome to see that they remained friends despite everything that happened between the GoM. Their friendship is very underrated. Even after Murasakibara and Aomine stopped going to practice, Midorima never stopped, and Kise only missed to go work for his modeling job when the atmosphere in the club was too heavy for him and he was bored, but he never completely stopped training.

Akashi never stopped either but they had difficulties approaching him after he switched with his other personality. And Kuroko left the club halfway through their third year.

Midorima obsession with his horoscope and lucky items is often misunderstood, he doesn't believe his lucky items are the main reason he never misses his shoots, only that by additionning everything he does at the maximum of his abilities (Training, taping his fingers, taking care of his nails, getting his lucky items, his sleeping and stretching routine and so on) it is guaranteed to never miss. The horoscope isn't the most important part, it's a whole and every component is just as important as the others.

I love that Riko, second best student in her school and Student Council Vice President of the School Committee is 100% willing to dine and dash.

Also I can't believe that Hyuga, this absolute angel who cries at the thought of leaving without paying, thought he could be some kind of gangster in Seirin in first year.

In a way i think his philosophy is right, whether you call it fate or not by doing everything you can at all time you are assured to encounter more success than those who don't.

And this is why Midorima respect Kuroko (and his Shutoku teammates and Akashi) so much, because when it comes to basketball Kuroko always do everything he can, and his efforts paid off. But they don't really get along because Midorima see it as 'he did his best so fate rewarded him' while Kuroko see it as 'I did my best so my effort are what rewarded me'.

This is also why he doesn't get along with Murasakibara who always do the bare minimum and nothing else. (Obviously Midorima is still friend with Kuroko and Murasakibara but their personalities are very opposite so they aren't as close as with the others)

Midorima see Kuroko's decision to go to Seirin as him not doing everything in his power, as going to a stronger school would obviously give him a leg up in the competition. In a way, in Midorima's mind, going to Seirin instead of a stronger school is equivalent to taking 50 shots during training instead of 100.
