Sunday Snippet, March 13, 2016 Nemesis Marks
Thank you everyone who messaged, liked, and reblogged that little snippet I posted earlier this week. Â So here is another little bit. Â For the original post go here.
There was no way that perfect prince Duncan Kane could be her nemesis.  Which clearly left him.  Logan Echolls: Nemesis.
Most people got their marks with puberty. Â But no. Â That was just another way the universe was screwing him. Â Logan couldnât remember a time when he didnât have the word âFatherâ taunting him from his wrist. Â But his soulmate mark hadnât appeared, even when other people started gossiping about getting theirs. Â What really killed him about it was that it was usually the other way around. Â If you got just one mark it was your soulmate and you were likely to live a happy normal life.
What does that say about you, Logan?  No happy or normal in your futureâŚ
Heâd spent many a long night wondering if his mark meant he would be just like Aaron and thatâs why he didnât have a soulmate. Â Then heâd met Lilly and been certain her name would appear on his skin. Â Sheâd be his escape. Â But it never came and she swore she had no marks. Â No soulmate, no nemesis. Â Lilly had been convinced it was a sign of how fabulous she was. Â
âNo one to hold me down or back. Â I rule my fate!â
Logan swallowed a long pull of scotchâthe good stuff from the locked cabinetâand stared at Veronicaâs name. Â It had appeared while he held her during Lillyâs funeral.
