Though the comment of an american news anchor during this years olympics about us ice skating to work in winter were bizarre, there is very much a national obsession with natural ice here in the netherlands.
There aren’t a lot of days in the year you can go ice skating on natural ice here, only about three this year. but when it is possible, it almost seems like the entire nation went ice skating. this shot was taken at 11am on a weekday, once schools were out and people got out of work it got a lot busier on the ice.
