Dear [klaus-the-original],
        Dear Klaus
I have no idea why I am writing this but before you get your hopes up, no, this is not that love letter you once saw me writing. If you are still curious, I wrote it for our daughter. And now I feel glad for writing it because at least she has something from her mother, something I never had.
I already regret the decision I made but it is the only way for her to be safe. I know it. But that does not mean I can accept it. I just… I miss her so much and I am terrified she will never be able to meet me, both of us. Since the moment I realized I would protect her with my life, I always thought she would have everything I never did: a family and someone to love her. Even though I know Rebekah will give her that, I am afraid she will think we abandoned her. We are doing the exact same thing my parents did and I can’t help but wonder what all of this will do to her, when she grows up without her parents by her side. I guess one day she will understand, if we don’t get her back in the meanwhile.
Anyway, this is taking too long but I couldn’t tell you this by looking in the eye. I am staying in the bayou. Don’t try to change my mind. I can’t be in the compound, seeing the nursery you made for her when all I have in my heart is a deep hole. I need time and I know you need it to. I will still do anything I have to to fix this city.So we can bring our baby girl back. We will do it, I promise you. But now I need time to mourn her and… to accept what I am now. Please, respect my decision, for once.
I will keep check on you. If you want.
