Hey guys! So I'm currently going into my 2nd year of COMN (having already finished my intro to COMN, my natural science, SOSC, and an additional three credit) I got a letter from the gender and women's studies department about my astounding performance in the course and I had been thinking about switching majors for a very long time. I've already began enrolling into courses (for COMN) and was wondering how I would go about switching majors, what'll happen & whether my credits will transfer.
Hello,
I literally went through the exact same process. This is everything you need to read on changing majors:Â www.registrar.yorku.ca/program/change/Â
Once I submitted my application, it took York 2 business days to approve and bam, I’m officially in Sexuality Studies.Â
Your existing credits would either count for Gen Eds or electives, accordingly. You wil have to enroll in classes that count for your new major too. You can find approved courses and other degree requirements on the GWST’s website: http://www.yorku.ca/laps/gsws/gwst/Â
I would strongly advise talking to the GWST program advisor. (http://www.yorku.ca/laps/gsws/gwst/contactus.html)Â
Let me know if you have any more question! Good luck with your process.Â
