This might be an overused and obvious franmaya headcanon but: Franziska has always been insecure about some aspect of her naked body that she cant change like a birthmark or inverted nipples or something because she considers it imperfect. But the first time she actually lets Maya see her fully naked those aspects are immediately pointed out as super attractive by Maya and she is therefore ravaged and has to logically conclude that those things never made her imperfect because nothing Maya finds attractive could not be perfect
very hard one for me to place re: canon because franziska exhibits absolutely no insecurity about her looks and in fact boasts the opposite. which is irrelevant entirely, because franziska is also a facade in a facade in a facade and is very careful to not let the audience know anything she doesn't want them to know.
either are valid interpretations.
that said if you want MY fucking opinion, i will be real i really hate how oversaturated franmaya fic and especially franmaya porn is with introspection about trauma and insecurity and all that because i have just so wholly grown out of and apart from those feelings myself and it's one of those 'oh a highschooler/very young adult wrote this' tells that tips me off that the story isn't really for me. and on a secondary level i'm tired of getting a child abuse jumpscare whenever i'm trying to read about dirty lesbian sex. not my jam
that said i do hold the unmovable opinion that two things about her body PISS FRANZISKA OFF: 1. her bullet scar and 2. that beauty mark she has under her left eye. i have waxed poetic about both. it's not that she thinks they make her unpretty or that she views them as blemishes, it's more that their asymmetry to her symbolizes the phantom of perfection and how she cannot hope to chase it. that beauty mark especially makes her crazy because it is this single pixel that is out of place on her face and no matter how symmetrical she does her hair or makeup or outfit or ANYTHING, she will always be stuck at 99.9%.
again i really only like dwelling on this in small pieces, i don't think it tears her up at night as much as it just annoys her. but yes, those two spots on her body ARE maya's favourite place to kiss. this is a throughline in all my franmaya fic. maya is lowkey obsessed with the asymmetry of franziska's body
