if anyone's wondering why there's shit there about the Venice Biennial in the bottom left corner, this was drawn during class. Those are my sparse lecture notes lol
Super messy sketchbook page from 1 year ago. Some of these drawings are actually bad lol sorry, I just had to post something about this character I got impatient. And don't worry if you can't read the words, it's mostly notes to myself about how I drew her.
This is my OC Kitty Kanker, the Kanker sis' aunt. She's Bea's 17-year-old half-sister, the youngest of the family. She's really friendly and easygoing, in stark contrast to her three older sisters, Norma, Betty, and Bea, who are all surly and jaded. Even though she's 8 months pregnant and single, with her senior year still ahead of her, Kitty isn't that worried. Her family is concerned, naturally, especially Bea, whom she's closest with.
After an explosive family dinner party, Kitty is sent by her mom to live with Bea and the lil Kankers for a few weeks in hopes that she'll learn about the reality of being a single parent. Her first day alone with the kids results in disaster. It's the wakeup call that Kitty should've gotten months ago. The remaining weeks before the baby arrives, Kitty does what she can to prepare herself for motherhood, of course with plenty of help from Bea.
You may be wondering, who's the father of Kitty's baby? Well, he told Kitty his name's Chuck, but depending on who you ask, he might be Terry, or Brody, or Mac. One thing's for sure—he's bad news. Bea never thought "Chuck" was good enough for Kitty. He was charming and generous to her at first, despite his shady lifestyle, but his true colours started to show before long. Kitty wondered for a while if she should leave or stick it out. When she got pregnant, she figured she needed to stay with him for the baby's sake, though she never even got the chance to tell him about the baby. Kitty overheard Chuck chatting with his friends, saying vile things about her (including that she's a little old for him—mind you, Chuck is a year older than Kitty!) No way is Kitty going to let a scumbag like him be in her kid's life! Bea swears that if she sees Chuck again, she's sending him to the ER, if not the morgue.
So yeah, that's more or less the story of Kitty. I promise I'll post some better art of her sooner or later
Oh, and Kitty goes on to do some modelling for Frisky Magazine in her 20s. Don't tell the Eds they've been ogling pictures of a Kanker!
