neon.
Sheâs surrounded by neon lights or so it seems. Many of them are various shades of pink and purple and when her eyes shift off the lights, her world appears dark and quiet again, as if the ambiance switched with her iris. The characters around her, the ones who talk to her, interact with herâtheyâre familiarâsheâs convinced they are although part of her knows their paths never crossed before and theyâre nothing but a product of her unconscious. She ignores it, absorbed by the gleaming walls and the peculiar darknessâitâs almost comforting, in a way, being lost in this world.Â
Time is an eccentric notion within the dreamscape, and suddenly, her body is tense. The idea of running and escaping the extravagant party she came to uninvited is floating in her mind, before hammering her with such force she knows something is wrong. Her legs, however, refuse to respond to her desperate cries, and stay still, heels stuck against the wooden floor. Thereâs a silhouette ahead of her, one of the familiar faces, frowning, waiting, impatientâwhat are you doingâshe looks at them, eyes watery now, sheâs too slow, in fact sheâs trappedâI wish I could tellâand no matter how hard she tries, her arms and legs resist to all attempt. Soon, she suffocates, prise au piège. She feels heavy, her throat is dryâshe can feel it tighten as she breathes. She has to run, she has to leave. Her screams get lost beyond the electronica and white noise around her, maybe she will lose her mind, maybe sheâll go insane, maybe sheâll turn into a freak and pull her hair outâshe deeply wants too.Â
Thereâs danger, the situation is somewhat alarming, itâs deadly. She can feel the pressure of her comradeâs stare upon her, she can feel how perilous and risky their adventure is yet she cannot see the menace itself. Itâs right here, it embraces her, sticks to her clothes and makes her heart quiver in fear, however invisible even to the sharpest eye. Her legs become more of a burden with each of her screamsâshe can barely handle it anymore, hope flies away from her, inevitably. Strengthless, she howls, longing for her promised awakening, after which sheâll be free to move again.
