Have you ever gotten a plot-related ask so good you drew inspiration (directly or indirectly) from it?
Not that I can think of. Iāve taken suggestions for smaller things, but with the story Iām pretty set on what Iām doing.Ā

On the neutering topic, where would you place yourself in the ovariectomy vs ovarihisterectomy discussion? And why? I've found a lot of opinions on the topic, but I'm still unsure what would be better...
Iād place myself on the ovariohysterectomy side of the equation. Partly because itās how Iāve been trained, but I am profoundly against pyometras and while an ovariectomised animal should in theory not get them if theyāre cycling, I also donāt want any uterine cancer showing up.
Thereās probably not a huge difference for the animal with either technique, as the uterus should atrophy without hormones present, but I have no reason to change what Iām currently doing.
Rabbits should always have their uterus removed. That thing is a cancer factory.
How often do you see non-standard (as in not dogs or cats) pets in daily practice? What species are most common? // And, also, What's your favourite planet on the Solar System?? (Counting Pluto, of course, I'm not a cruel and uncaring astronomer who would let Pluto out of the thing (?))
If you donāt count greyhounds as non-standard (and I donāt, they are dogs too) then I donāt often see unusual pets in practice. Partly because unusual pets are not taken to vets all that often, a combination of the belief that they are both not worth spending the money on and that āvetās donāt know about Xā, and partly because those owners who do decide their unusual pets are worth spending money on will go to a clinic with a reputation for seeing unusual and exotic pets, which is a perfectly reasonable thing to do. And because Iām not all that far away from a few clinics with a good reputation for exotics, most of those pets will go there.
Rabbits count as an unusual or exotic pet, as to guinea pigs. Unfortunately I usually see them when theyāre severely unwell. Sometimes Iāll see chickens or the occasional other bird, but not all that often.
I donāt mind seeing them, but because I donāt see them often I often have to look thing sup as I go along, especially drug dosages, and figure out a way to actually medicate the patient.
Iām rather fond of Venus, but then Earth is the only planet with chocolate. so...
