Minuk: Ashes in the Pathway, by Kirkpatrick Hill. There aren’t many books about Alaska Natives for younger readers, and I’d say this one is better than Julie of the Wolves because it doesn't see things as black and white. Minuk is able to appreciate certain things the missionaries brought, but she also knows when they've gone too far. Probably my favorite in the series.

Read Aloud Books 2023-2024
Oh look, the super belated read aloud book list for 2023 - 2024. Books without legible titles (or with barely legible titles) are Bo at Ballard Creek by Kirkpatrick Hill and illustrated by LeUyen Pham (which we did not finish) and Elijah of Buxton by Christopher Paul Curtis.
I only read parts out of Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls and EuReKa and I read like 20 or 30 poems out of the Book of Nature Poetry.
