Distortion Detective Read Aloud - Chapters 17 + 18 - 🔗 in replies ⬇️ This week: Moses makes out with a bunch of mermaids, pulls some thorns, and says farewell to arm. 🧜♀️
For anyone who wants to listen to a read aloud of the first DMC novel!
The DMC novels will always be my absolute favorite part of the DMC franchise! I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve reread them! If we do not get DMC 6, I hope we get an animated film adaptation of the first novel with Kamiya and Itsuno as directors!
I was curious if there were any read aloud videos of the first novel on YouTube and luckily I found this guy’s channel!
He does an amazing job voicing Dante, Grue, Gilver, and even Nell! Please check out his channel! Especially those who haven’t read the first novel!!!
But I must warn you, you better be ready to cry!!! 😭
first storytime, narrated by Cici! cuddle up with your stuffies and get comfy, because today we’re reading…
Tell Me Something Happy Before I Go To Sleep,
by Joyce Dunbar and Debi Gliori.
Next time we’ll be reading Chrysanthemum (since we had a tie vote, I want to read both top picks)
OH! ALSO!
I can’t believe I forgot this because when it happened today I had to take a moment and lower the book and say overly loudly to some poor fourth graders:
“WHAT DID PROFESSOR LUPIN JUST CALL SIRIUS BLACK?”
Because I had already pointed out to them from the moment he enters the Shack, Remus calls Sirius, Sirius. Not Black, not Sirius Black. Sirius.
Would you like to know when he calls him Padfoot???
Here:
“Forgive me, Remus,” said Black.
“Not at all, Padfoot, old friend,” said Lupin, who was now rolling up his sleeves. “And will you, in turn, forgive me for believing you were the spy?”
“Of course,” said Black, and the ghost of a grin flitted across his gaunt face.
I cannot. I simply cannot. Remus calls him Padfoot for the first time, and Sirius has a ghost of a grin on his face.

Heya folks! I'm trying my hand at reading the Critical Recaps (Audiobook style) for Critical Role Campaign 4 but if there's something similar you'd enjoy hearing me read, let me know! (Constructive Criticism welcome)
Call it my love-letter to the CR Lore-Keepers <3
... because many don't know how to or cannot read, and because a voice that understands what it reads gives the text an orientation, a tessitura, and nuances. It vivifies it.
