what is your idea of the kingpurp dynamic if not familial
unhealthy escapism unlabeled dom-sub arrangement thats not *necessarily* sexual since the original series is a kids series but theyre both adults with heavy interest in eachother
its not that i hate the idea of familial kingpurp its that post ep30 fandom acts like its always been this way as if mango and purple couldnt be anything but adoptive father and child since the start. keeping in mind it was one of the most popular ships before that episode released sometimes I wonder if we watched the same show
as if a mentally unstable purple character who lost everything , got humiliated and is still vengeful to a degree wouldnt kneel down for a taller man who pets their head and says he will help them get revenge
additionally i dont like the idea that if it was narratively a romantic or platonic exchange the fandom would be fine with adoptive/found family headcanons, but since the writers arbitrarily decided in one episode with *zero* previous buildup that theyre more familial -not even openly adopted. they just bond over similar loss and trauma- suddenly everyone who previously shipped them is a disgusting proshipper now
