There is something both heartwarming & horrible seeing people show fondness over the Disney Era of Power Rangers. Horrible in that it tells me I'm f***ing old, but heartwarming because I feel like "yeah I think for the most part the Disney era was well like. About 6 and a half of the 7 shows were pretty solid, & even the worst on of the 7 had something going for it".
Congrats to Dan Slott for making the least egregious "Kid Jon bait'n'switch" story. While not surprising that Kid Jon was apparently Earth-3 Jon the very least the book did a better job exploring that Jon has some insecurity & unresolved trauma over the whole age-up rather than just writing it off for "He's the Gay Nepobaby Messiah who'll end Bigotry!" Hogwash they were pushing back in 2022.
Also kudos that we're now making an attempt at him "becoming his own thing" rather than just keep making him like Lois or Clark. Maybe it'll go somewhere but we'll see.
Recently getting back into the Power Ranger sphere again and Learned Obscurus Lupa shot her mouth off and got in a tizzy with the fanbase over SPD and what was essentially a bad faith critique on it being Copaganda on the show from the jump.
Late to the party but man am I happy that the majority of Channel Awesome critics influence is dried out, & this is coming from someone who likes Lupa's stuff too.
