ooc: I think so, too. I think he doesn't want anyone to worry about him; he's the type of person who would rather shoulder everyone else's burdens than lean on anyone with his own. In my opinion, it's his fear of being selfish coupled with a deeply rooted pride. He's got a desire to prove himself, which he's demonstrated in canon, and I think that stems from being second best to Riku time and time again. He doesn't complain about it, but it drives his competitive streak. Sora doesn't want to seem weak, especially now that he's opened his arms to the weight of the universe's darkness. He needs everyone to believe in him.
