When you ask God to send you people for your life - He will answer you. I’ve been plowing for the last decade and this year I pull back to focus on self care and nurturing important relationships. It feels incredible to have margin and TIME to spend and dream and just BE. Dreams take time, energy, resources and often relationships suffer. I feel like I’ve been on a plane for ten years - and I’m uberly grateful- the Lord knows. But this years looks different. Plowing can be lonely. Events can’t be done without a swathe of volunteers with the heart to pray over the preparation, offer support during the months prior, and be there on the day to make things happen. • So we take the opportunity to honour every single person involved from day one of the Friendship Festival idea being brought up back in March, through to the actual day of the event at the tail end of May. 1) Right vs. Righteous We believe parents like you want to raise Kingdom builders and even though we don’t have it all figured out, we know someone who does. God, through the amazing stories and teaching in scripture, shows us how to influence our children in the best way possible. Our desire is to share that with you over the next seven days. Before we get into the nitty-gritty practical steps to raising Kingdom builders, a distinction needs to be made between doing the right thing and doing the most righteous thing.  Some fantastic parents do incredible jobs teaching their children the differences between right and wrong, but in order to take parenting to the next level, righteous living should be a primary focus. We make choices every day to teach our children right and wrong, especially while our children are young. Eventually though, our children, especially in their teenage years, will be placed in a culture that defines “right” many different ways, most of which are contrary to how Christ desires we live.  For the next 6 days, we are going to look at key aspects of a growing faith in Christ that can be easily implemented into your day-to-day parenting. If you are willing to embark on this journey with us, we can’t promise your children will turn out perfect, but we can promise that through our study of God’s Word, you will be setup for success to impact your child’s future.
