King Chef, Lucky Chinatown

It was my first time to try King Chef inside Lucky Chinatown and I was impressed by how big it is.  They have function rooms if you intend to make your dinner or lunch private. Staff were accommodating all throughout even though they’re a bit busy because of a lot of people who dined in.  When it comes to food, I highly recommend you try them if you haven’t.  It became of one my favorite Chinese…

Just to clear something out, I love Chinese Dimsum very much. They are these amazing little chewable things that my taste buds really respond to no matter what. With cravings on mind, I present to you one of my favorite restaurants who is especially known for their Dimsum, King Chef Seafood Restaurant.

Located at Second Floor, Lucky Chinatown Mall, Binondo, Manila, King Chef Seafood Restaurant offers Chinese cuisine at 10:00AM to 11:00PM from Mondays to Sundays. At 3:00PMto 5:00PM and 9:00PM to 12:00AM, they give out for as low as 50% on all Dimsum when you dine in at their restaurant.

For the first day of second sem, my cousin and I planned to eat out after classes. We decided to do that at King Chef. When we got to Lucky Chinatown Mall, we noticed that it has not reach the promo time yet, so we walked around the mall for a little bit. When the clock struck at 3, we have gone immediately to the restaurant.

As we entered King Chef, a server wearing the restaurant’s red Chinese uniform greeted us warmly and directed us to our table. Seated at our comfortable seats, we could clearly see and feel the bright atmosphere of the restaurant which was really nice. A few minutes later, the server came back to give us the menu with a paper attached to it. Here was what I liked about King Chef; they have this ordering system where on the paper you will see all the food in the menu and beside them was their corresponding box where you will write how many you want of that product. Before we ordered, we made sure that our ordering time was within the range of the promo time. We asked the server and she said that we could start ordering and so we gave back the menu and ordering paper with our orders along with them.

These were what we ordered: chicken feet, hakaw, radish cake, bean curdle roll and fried prawn dumpling. First and foremost, I didn’t like chicken feet at all but their chicken feet made me think twice. So, when I tasted it, I realized chicken feet were not too bad after all and that I might purchase some again. Of course, there was no doubt that the ever famous hakaw(shrimp dumplings) would taste good. They were remarkable! I assure you that once you tasted one, there would be no going back. As always, radish cake tasted nice and soft, as ever. Next would be the bean curdle roll. This was a must try! This dimsum has a lot of flavors going on inside it; my taste buds were begging for more! Lastly, you will never go wrong with an order of fried prawn dumpling where in everyone will agree that they were mouth-watering.

We were still at the restaurant at quarter to 5. Ten minutes before 5, a server went to us and asked if we want to order one last time before the promo ended. We were full already, so we turned the offer down. I liked how they remind us of that just because we were paying them all at their half-prices. At the same time the promo ended, we requested for the bill. We only have to pay 500+ considering that there was the discount. If we didn’t dine at the time of the promo, we would have paid 1000+ for the Dimsum. Though, they were really expensive but I assure that you will get your money’s worth there.

One thing I didn’t like about the restaurant was they took too much time in giving back our changes. If I was not wrong, I believed that we got out of the restaurant twenty minutes after we paid the bill.

To sum it all up, King Chef Seafood Restaurant was a good place to eat Dimsum because of the taste, promo, atmosphere and service. Would I come back for more? Definitely! Without a doubt!
