     So far, this mist has been an absolute pain to deal with. Ragna’s been trying to stay on the main paths for as long as possible, but every now and then he runs into a dead end... Every now and then, the free space runs out. And sometimes, he just has no choice but to barge into the mist— just to help someone he thinks might need help.

     Whether or not it actually worked out that way, it tends to come down to luck. And god damn— his luck is pretty shit.

     But this time, luck took an... odd turn. Stepping into the fog didn’t lead him to a friend or stranger in need, nor an ambush of the past. It’s been one of the most unexpected meetings so far...

     It’s not so bad, though. Feels like they’ve been talking for well over two hours. ... Well— he’s mostly been listening. The story is a lot to catch up on, so the misty visitor’s been offered his full attention. When’s the last time he kept his mouth shut and actually wanted to hear someone’s life story? Even when he felt that someone was getting closer off in the distance, Ragna didn’t turn away from the Huntress sitting next to him.

     She might fade away if he’s distracted, after all.

She liked the nights better than the days. It was easier for her to feel at ease at night. Sitting on the roof tops, she would watch the world go by and not worry about people staring at her or the reflection of the light off of her armor giving her away. But in the faint light of the moon, she didn’t have to worry about that.

While there were some monstrous things in this city, it was nothing like home. She didn’t have to constantly be on guard for the things that hid in the dark. So, that’s why it was such a shock when she saw something monstrous in the darkness.

A human body and a monstrous face, at the very least. The half-Yoma felt herself tense up like a cat, her hand going to the blade on her belt. It was just a kitchen knife, but...

Carefully, she jumped from her roof top, all the ready to hunt. Oh, silly girl, not everything that looks scary is evil. That was a lesson she was going to need to be taught again.
