The Hunter and the Wolf | Huntsman & Red
It was moments like this that he wished he could feel emotions again. He remembered always liking the feeling of wind rushing past his face whenever he ran through the woods with Faolan but he couldn't bring up that happy feeling that would go through him. Though the wind wasn't the reason that the Huntsman would feel happy. It was the fact that there was a chance for him to get his heart back and get away from the queen that had been holding him captive all this time.Â
He never thought that going out that evening was a wise idea. He knew the pack that Regina was using to get what she wanted and seeing them act the way they were wasn't to his liking. They should have been running free somewhere safe, not hurting others and doing Regina's dirty work. It made him think that his attempt to protect them, which then turned into his imprisonment, had been in vain. But if they would rather be Regina's tool of destruction then he wasn't going to complain now. With the chance of finally getting away from her there the Huntsman wasn't about to let that slip away. All he needed to do was hunt down the wolf that had taken his heart and get it back.
The problem he faced now was catching the wolf. He was a skilled tracker, he always had been, and it was easy for him to the hunt the wolf down. But the wolf was faster than him. It wasn't the surprising since he had guessed that it was a rogue werewolf. By the way that the pack acted they seemed to have known the wolf but something must of happened to make this particular one go rogue. Whatever happened must have taken place after he left the pack as he didn't recognize the wolf. The Huntsman hoped to use that in his favor though. The wolf wouldn't know anything about him and therefore his weaknesses would be unknown. Unfortunately that worked both ways. He knew nothing about this wolf and what he could do to get the advantage. All he could do was fall it and wait for the time where he could get his heart.
Now if only he could find some sign of the wolf...He had been following its trail for awhile but that trail suddenly vanished. There were small signs of something have been through the area recently and he was hoping that was the wolf. He wished he still had Faolan with him. His own wolf would be able to track the scent of the other and would make this whole process easier.
