Shorthand for Kindle Users
My Kindle is not one of the original breed of Kindles, the ones with the fancy qwerty keyboards. Mine is some sort of newer generation, which means it's small and light and also means that, in order to type notes and annotations, I have scroll to each letter individually, and then press enter.
I am not complaining. I love my Kindle. But this is a White Girl Tragedy of epic proportions, because I think I am taking good notes that will help me analyze dense and varied stories like Sebastian Faulks'sย Birdsong,ย and when I go back to look over my annotations, I am reminded why differentiating between words is important in the English language:

A year ago today, I graduated from college. Apparently, that is exactly how long it takes for English majors to lose their minds.
