Kyungmi didn’t know what she had until it was kind of forced on her. And then she wasn’t sure if she wanted it.

To put it lightly, her family had a history of.... top heavy women. Kyungmi had always wanted to be a ballerina, but as she hit puberty, she learned pretty quickly that she did not have the body type required. When she was fourteen she signed as a trainee after being eyed by a scout at one of her recitals, and she truly had no idea why. It wasn’t like she was the best dancer there. 

Again, she’d figure out why she was scouted in due time, but to put it lightly, the recruited wasn’t looking at talent so much as he was looking for assets, as vulgar and fucked up as that was.

Throughout her teen years, Kyungmi had a lot of body issues. She loved streetwear and casual comfortable clothing, so that was most of what she owned, but it never sat right on her. Bagging things made her look chunky. If she wore a loose shirt, it went straight down off her boobs and made her look fat. So despite being very fit and working hard to maintain that as a trainee, when she looked in the mirror, she never saw that. She saw a square-looking girl in a large t-shirt. 

She was finally slated to debut, and boy was she in for a shock. While most rookie girl groups got to try out bright and bubbly concepts, Delight went straight for dirty. Naive as she was, that was when it clicked. It made sense why she was scouted. Now that stylists were dressing her, she knew why she was picked for the group. And she wasn’t sure if she liked it.

As Delight’s choreography got worse and worse, Kyungmi hated it more and more. She’d wanted to be an idol. Music shows, award nominations, fun fanmeets..... But their choreography was so uncomfortable to do in public, Delight was typically not allowed to be on most music shows, and thus they weren’t nominated for many awards. And while there were some fanmeets, they fans they were meeting made Kyungmi’s skin crawl.
