Lydia is escorted into the bleached white room. Everything was white: the garments of the nurses, patients, and orderlies--the chairs, the floor, the bars on the windows. IS THIS WHAT HEAVEN LOOKS LIKE? A bulky orderly uncuffs her and she wearily rubs her wrists. “Wait here,” he says gruffly, nodding to a chair. She hesitantly lowers herself into the armchair beside a dark haired boy. Her eyes flit from him to the television set where SHE is on TV, standing in a courtroom with wrists cuffed and a scowl on her face. The news report on the screen read in blue: LYDIA FLOYD, YOUNG AUTHOR FACES PLEADS INSANITY. “Trial didn’t go so well,” she muttered glumly. 

       DELICACY BURIES ITSELF in a fragile spine, innocence carving it’s        way into her bones. she presents a plate full of cookies to him on a         small, round plate. ‘ ---- graveyard cookies.’ she knows it isn’t, and it        wont be halloween for awhile -- but, who says she cant bake party        themed cookies? ‘some dismembered arms, too.’ in cookie form,         of course.
