To those of you unaware, recently Team Fortress 2, one of my very first and favorite shooters, a testament to the quality of games, and a pillar of the online community has been ravaged by thugs hosting bots sporting the most abusive cheats of any game in recent memory. One bot is all it takes to lock down 2Fort's (the most popular map in the game) open area every 20 seconds. 3 is often all it takes to detail the entire game and they are EVERYWHERE. At many points during the crisis more would join any given game than real players, and sometimes they would crash servers and the exploit would not be patched for a week.
Please, if you love shooters or you live this game or any game please do not allow Valve to sit idly as swatters, DDoSers, and Doxxers operate a veritable gang based out of our game. On June 3rd please join us on Twitter and this blessed hellsite to rectify this gross violation of our game with Valve's help. If this doesn't work, if you would be interested there is a community anti-cheat in the works, but it is far from complete.
