i might regret posting this but i gotta rant!!!!
this applies to japanese people and weaboos too, but as a korean, living in america and being surrounded by koreaboos is so wild and nauseating. bc on one hand, it’s really cool to see that people who’ve never been to korea really like the language and culture. but on the other hand, it’s really degrading to see the fetishation and idealization of my culture, country, and people.
appreciate korean culture, but for the love of god please don’t idealize and fetishize it. we’re people. not a concept. we have history. we’re not a playground for entertainment and fantasy.
