When Kierk entered my life, he was just old enough to leave the litter... he would've been 15 later this year, and I was just a few months away from being able to hold him again. But sometimes, things just happen you can't predict. And they can happen faster than you realize

Bringing him with me was a huge hurdle, and while I wanted to, I ultimately made the decision to leave him in my mom's care. And I had to go onto my visa for at least 5 years, knowing that this was something that could happen. It's hard that it actually happened...

My mom wasn't much of a cat person - despite us kids growing up with two - and she wasn't super hype about taking him in. But when we spoke on Wed, I knew she loved him very much... And she realized how much she loved him, too.

Kierkegaard lived a good, peaceful life, the boxes on the radiators were always his favorite place. I'm really missing you, little man, and I'm sorry I couldn't give you one last chin scratch and lap cuddle before you left.
