These are no ordinary robots! Beryllians are cybernetic living, thinking, emotionally intelligent aliens from the planet Beryll. Beryllians are energy beings in cybernetic robot bodies that can communicate to each other through special bonds. But there is a faction of non-bonded Beryllians that believe all bonds are a weakness. Even with proof of formidable warriors, the 'weakness' is that if one dies, the other follows. While rare, this does happen and the non-bonded Beryllians believe in a better way of repelling invading enemies. If they can erase all attachments, all emotion, becoming truly emotionless war machines, then they can repel the invaders forever.
