I’m so disappointed that the drama is doing well. I know people love the bad boy/good girl trope but there is literally no responsibility taken by the writers. the writer’s definition of love is a male chauvinist, egoistical man child who wants to control a woman who doesn’t love him back.

I was reading Feroze Khan’s interview and he says Hadi was a role he was skeptical about but its just for entertainment purposes at the end of the day and that Hadi shouldn’t be forgiven in the drama etc. I can never grasp this idea. Even though Hadi was just a “role”, viewers are getting influenced. There are young girls and guys watching saying this is how you should approach a girl and that no can eventually lead to a yes. 

This is what Osman Khalid Butt said and he didn’t name Khaani but he’s definitely hinting at the show. 

there is a very troubling trend of romanticizing villains. We have well-dressed murderers in search of that paak-pavitr girl to help them see the light; stalking and harassment is sexy; rapists are just bad boys waiting to be reformed – or worse, good guys who just… slipped up. Now, I’m not saying villains can’t be suave, but the punishment must fit the crime, which is hardly ever the case.

Cultures are created through the media. so when you’re presenting this good looking, rich guy you’re excusing the harassment and telling viewers this type of behavior is okay. Even if the drama has a romantic or comedy theme, as actors they should choose roles that have a greater purpose and that inform audience what’s right and wrong. which is clearly not being done in this play.
