So before any character stuff holy shit the deliveries on him were amazing 10/10 it hit every time, wonderful work

onto the character take that I should not take seriously but lowkey kinda will-ish

Nearly everything from him was so “he would not fucking say that” but in the funniest way possible. (Except the never had sex like he WOULD say that he totally didn’t fuck until he was married I’m sorry. Not even like for morality shit that’s just kinda how life went.) I am a BIG Nightmare Before Christmas fan, I read the books and comics and shit I am a freak for this world. Trust me when I say he would never go “ewwwww” at anything ever but that’s exactly why it’s funny to me. It’s so outlandish for him that it’s a riot.

(also being canon compliant isn’t the point in these dubs but that’s beside my whole ramble here)

But here’s the part where I kinda go nuts, they kinda circled back around to making it in character NOW HEAR ME OUT HERE. It’s a situational thing.

TNBC is iconic most to all of us have seen it we know the main conflict. Jack starts feeling bored with Halloween but gets inspired by Christmas and hijacks that holiday. In DNH however it’s stated real fast thst Halloween Town is at WAR with Christmas Town, wether or not this is because of the movie events or something else we don’t know but it doesn’t effect my point too much. What matters is that they are at war and Jack absolutely can’t just go over there or even any other Holidays now.

Jack already in canon has gotten bored of Halloween, loving it still but not having the spark for it anymore. Throw a war happening on top of that, a war that keeps him from leaving and finding that spark again. If he’s already bored and miserable that’s just gonna make it even worse, and how does that mentality degrade? Boredom turns to disdain.

Things that would once bring so much joy over time become things that disgust you, things that make you upset. Even at the end of the section he’s asking the group if he can leave with them, he just wants to see something NEW man. That’s the most Jack shit ever, he loves to see brand new things but this THIS world he’s denied that and it ruins his view on things that used to be fine
