fairytale muses so far:
puss in boots / pib. taken from dimension 20: neverafter. he's literally a cat, but he talks, and walks on his hind legs, can often be found wearing boots and a cape. he's a bit of a scoundrel, he likes to steal things and run scams, but he's good deep, deep ( deep ) down. he sees most things as a game, and does a lot of what he does simply because he wants to have fun. very mischievous, but will always help a friend in need. my personal spin on this is that pib is a familiar who lost his owner, and got stuck in his cat form. once he connects with another owner, he can turn back into a man, but that hasn't been possible yet. fc: aldis hodge in human form, but he's a scruffy, black cat most of the time. pronouns: he / him.
mira / the quiet pirate. taken from dimension 20: neverafter. based off of the little mermaid folklore. formerly a mermaid who sold her voice in exchange for human legs, the prince that she was in love with did not love her back. she's now alone, voiceless, with immense pain in her legs every time she takes a step. she's hiding from her father, who wants to take her home. if she were to touch the ocean, her father would know exactly where she is, and so she stays away from it at all costs. important things to know are that mira has chronic pain in her legs that makes it hard to walk, and she's mute, only able to communicate through writing or telepathy. fc: alba flores. pronouns: she / her.
key & legend. taken from dimension 20: neverafter. two librarians of the lines between - an interdimensional pocket that is filled with the books and lives of fairytale characters. these two look over the stories and ensure that everything is going according to plan. surprise - it's not. key is more reserved, less talkative, but friendly, while legend is much more upbeat and ready to have a conversation. they are both magic users, are often seen together, and are currently in an open relationship. key fc: janelle monae. key pronouns: they / them. legend fc: stephanie hsu. legend pronouns: she / her & he / him.
