Best store for groceries, hands down. On top of their prices which are far lower than even Wal-Mart’s, they pay their employes dollars above minimum wage (the on I go to pays 50% more than minimum wage.) All around good place.
Nice! I notice that they have far fewer employees on the floor than what most Americans are used to in a comparable store of that size so that's likely why -- but I think it's a great business practice.
I don't usually tabulate my grocery budget weekly, more monthly, but I might calculate out what I spent per serving of food to see what the weekly cost tally was. I was *very* pleased with the overall bill considering I bought some more "premium" type stuff like salmon ($4/lb frozen), lean ground turkey ($3/lb), Greek yogurt, asparagus ($2.29/bunch), etc.
I'm still a Costco fan for absolute rock bottom prices on produce and fresh proteins but then of course to even be a Costco shopper you have to have the luxury of storage space. So, yay Aldi.
