I’m reading a Steddie Knight’s Tale!AU with Eddie as William, Steve as Jocelyn, Max and Lucas as Wat and Roland, and Billy as the Count. It’s called Found Wanting by ItCanBePalped and KenzieFive. Highly recommend, it’s delightful so far!
But now I have my own AU idea that I will likely never write so please if anyone else is inspired, go forth, just tell me where I can read it when it’s done if you do. 🥰
It’s more a Knight’s Tale reimagining rather than a full AU. I’m picturing fallen Steve as William with Robin as Jocelyn. We can get a great reinterpretation of season 3 with his crush turning into their friendship, all the while there’s a budding energy with Eddie as Chaucer. Billy could still be the Count or perhaps Tommy? And maybe Nancy as the blacksmith so we get some Ronance in there too. Or perhaps Jocelyn’s friend can be Robin’s love interest, maybe Chrissy? Idk. I also think Dustin would be a great Wat.
I just think this would be so fun. There is so much room for Eddie to be wild and zany and angsty as Chaucer. And then Jocelyn could also have more of a character (this is a complaint for the movie not the fic). And I think having Steve questioning romance and friendship with two different people in opposite directions would be real good.
