Anna Dressed in Blood, Kendare Blake
The Young Queens
Kendra Blake:Â
3/5
I loved this novella, donât get me wrong I just donât think that novellas are worth more than three stars most of the time. Theyâre good, but theyâre never enough for me. I want more, and while reading them always make the main story better it isnât enough.
Three Dark Crowns was one of my favorite summer reads because I live for the drama and the murder. This novella didnât do much for me compared to Three Dark Crowns, or One Dark Throne. I liked seeing the queens when they were little and having more knowledge of what it was like for them growing up and getting to see them together for just a bit of time.
I wish that we had more of Queen Camilla, like honest to god wish that we had more of her just because I wish there was a series about her and her sisters. I could forever read about the Queens and their sisters like no joke there are so many possibilities.
Do I approve of what the Westwoodâs did to Mira? No, I donât, and I donât really like how they continue to act like they didnât trap her in a basement for years and how she doesnât even resent them for it. I donât think they should have gotten to keep custody of her after that, she should have been moved to a different family. I donât know how others feel about this, but it unsettled me way too much. Never liked the Westwood family to begin with, and this novella just proved my point as to why I didnât like them.
Katharine, oh my god, Katharine was SO GOOD. I miss this Kat so much sheâs my baby and deserves way more than what she got, even though she got her Natalia out of this. Her part of the story didnât really seem big to me compared to the other twoâs. A lot about her life in this novella was already told in TDC, so it felt like her chapters were mainly just included so that she wasnât left out of a story about triplets. Doesnât mean that I wasnât glad to see her because obviously Kat is an absolute babe and I love her.
My girl, Arsinoe? Not straight. No way is she straight okay, I know that technically she has to have a King Consort, but I donât care. Kendra Blake is out there writing about Jules and Arsinoe the way that she does and yet they âarenât togetherâ like donât come at me with that we all know that they should be together. Literally no one looks at a person and thinks âthis one, I have to take care of this person for the rest of my lifeâ without them being together. You know what my fiancĂŠ thought the first time we met? It was, âYes, I have to take care of this one for the rest of my lifeâ like come on Blake, give us the wlw content that we all want. I have never seen characters that remind me of me and My Love, so Blake can come and fight me on this. Honestly? Give us Jules/Arsinoe/Billy, Iâd settle for that set up without issue. Her story has always been really great to me because while her sisters have all somewhat accepted how things are sheâs always wanted something different from her life and in this we got to see her early, defiant years.
In conclusion? I think that these girls deserve better, no question about it. As much as I love how the series is going as of the end of One Dark Throne, I think that more of this novella should have been about them together and being happy together, and the last three chapters about their first few days with their foster families but thatâs just me.

Three Dark Crowns
Absolut lesenswert. Meine Bewertung fällt jedoch trotzdem mager aus.
